Pushing through or dancing through?

One of my favorite six year olds is learning how to communicate using head switches and a voice output app (Proloquo2go.) My job is to make this an exciting experience. At first, the novelty was enough to sustain engagement; now my challenge is to create new ways to make communication motivating. As a parent and educator, there are so many tasks that we have to encourage others to accomplish. When we can find ways to dance through these experiences instead of push through them, the task becomes something to look forward to instead of something to dread for everyone involved.
