Use what you have

The fifth graders had a large assignment due recently. Most did the minimum to complete the assignment. One student stood head and shoulders above the rest. He isn’t your typical star student. Writing comes with a huge amount of struggle, often flipping letters and missing words. The key to this kid’s success is his perseverance. It is the reason why he made four years of reading progress in a year and a half without without being able to functionally decode the letters. It is the reason he passes most math tests even when just copying numbers in order is a strenuous task. His perseverance is what he has and it is the reason he continues to rise.

What if we all used what we have everyday?
