Today our kids were not their best selves. We went out with the intentions of a family hike and then dinner in a nearby town but we needed to cancel the dinner as a consequence to less than ideal behavior. It was a real drag to cancel dinner out. Laura and I were truly looking forward to one of our favorite meals with no dishes or clean up afterward but we needed to follow through with our message that there are consequences to negative actions. Sometimes follow through stinks. In the end, the kids got the point and dinner at home was pleasant. Next time we go out to eat, dinner will taste even better.
When did you dread follow through? Was it worth it in the end?
