Today we all hopped in the car for a six hour drive to visit family. We have made this trip many times before but each time the same route is a distinctly different journey. When Laura and I were dating, we would spend the time together listening to books by Augusten Burroughs or David Sedaris. Once we drove through the night, stopping at every Dunkin’ Donuts in between. Later on we planned our wedding guest list and went through books of baby names. Today it was up to me to referee the biggest two in the back while keeping toys and milk flowing for the babies. It was a journey that I wouldn’t have traded for the world.
From your trip to the grocery store, to your walk down the hall, how do you experience new journeys on familiar routes?
