Assuming competency

Yesterday my team and I met with Al Gonzalez in order to plan a #futureleaders training. What I loved most about the conversation was the assumed competency of the students. We are planning this event under the assumption that these eleven year olds will get the connection between conflict resolution, community problem solving and engagement in the elementary classroom and the workplace. We trust that the tools they will gain now will continue to develop and serve their communities over a lifetime.

What are other ways that we can assume competency?
